For the past 13 years I have been moving around the globe. Born and raised in the Netherlands, I moved to California in 2007 and have lived in Switzerland, Hong Kong and Singapore since then. I recently landed back on European soil. As a former Communications Director and holding a MA in French language and literature, Public Relations and Communications, I was fortunate to make a career change when I moved to the US. Passionate for dance since my early childhood, I've always been interested in the human body and its movement. After an introduction to Pilates years ago when I was diagnosed with spondylolysis, a fracture in the lumbar spine, I decided it was time to share my knowledge with others. Pilates has literally changed my life as it had made me stronger, flexible and more in touch with my body and mind. Becoming a Yoga teacher, Personal Trainer and Health Coach have only added to the mix, bringing me closer to who I am! I am also back pain free and live a happier and healthier life because of it. I‘ve had the privilege to work all around the world with people of different nationalities, with different characters, lives and bodies. But no matter where we live, we all deal with the same types of challenges. A stressful and often seated lifestyle, a lack of work-life balance and bad food choices, cause all kinds of health problems. From not being able to relax or sleep well, to having aches and pains in neck, shoulders and back, all are the result of unhealthy habits in our daily lives. My style of teaching is a blend of everything I have learned from personal experience, my own (teacher) training, conferences and workshops I attend, new research that is being done and most importantly, through feedback I get from clients. My classes are fun, challenging but always with an emphasis on correct form, posture and alignment. This will help you with body awareness, something you can apply in your daily life and when taking other classes. Come and try for yourself!

You are as old as your spine, so let’s wake it up. Movement of the spine in all its directions is key to keeping it healthy and happy. In this class we’ll work on some classic Pilates exercises involving the spinal. You’ll feel more flexible and energised.
The core muscles are literally at the ‘core’ of your body, they are there to support your spine and your posture. So it’s important to work on them, both flexibility and strength wise. In this faster paced class we’ll do some classic and effective Pilates core exercises targeting the back, the belly and the buttocks. You’ll feel the burn!
A Yin class that focusses on postures that will help you to find ease in your body. Tight areas will be released, your mind will be opened and all of this is done with compassion for your body. Give yourself some tender loving care.
A short and sweet body scan. Body scan is a tool used in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR by Jon Kabat Zin). By lying down and bringing focus and awareness to one part of your body, you will find full relaxation and be completely stress free. Make sure you don’t fall asleep!
